Joe and I have had this dream for 6 years. We have had this specific plan for a year and a half. We have been learning, buying, selling, strategizing and otherwise going out of our minds for the last 6 months. And it all comes down to today.
Today we move our family halfway around the world.
OK, I take that back, it's probably more like a quarter of the way around the world. But far enough.
Moving a family overseas (and I realize I have only done half of it) is NOT for the faint of heart. And I have an ENORMOUS amount of respect for any woman who has done this. Now, I am the first to applaud my husband for all of the work and sacrifice he has put into it. And he is fantastic and such a servant. But we have separate jurisdictions, and mine include organization, social engagements & entertainment, kids, toys, clothes, medicine, medical issues, purchasing, and food (before, during, and after the move). And oh MY HEAVENLY STARS. I am just speechless. Which is good because you don't want to hear the whining. (The people around me on a day-to-day basis aren't so lucky)
Anyhow. On Thursday, when most of you are waking up, we will be walking, sight unseen, into our home for the next two years. Not ideal, but it will build character? Right? RIGHT?!
Also, we will be moving to a new blog soon. Why? Well, we need to beef up security here at Team Dickerson, inc. You know, what with our thousands of followers and the paparazzi. But first we need to think of a clever name. (If you have any ideas please feel free to share). Hopefully the next post on here will be the switcheroo with a link to the new blog.
A quick note to our local friends- we are well aware that we have neglected you over the last few months and we are oh so sad that we didn't even get to say goodbye to many of you. It all came to be too much too fast and we have been extremely overwhelmed. Please know that we love you all and will miss you greatly!
So here goes, well, everything.
